More Information On 10 Year China Visa For Americans

Earlier in the week I wrote about how the US and China have announced a new, reciprocal 10 year visa policy for tourists and business travelers. This is obviously fantastic news, given that previously US travelers could get at most a one year visa for travel to China.

The change was supposed to kick in on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, though as is usually the case with bureaucracy, there seems to be a lot of misinformation, and it also takes time for policies to spread. Obviously there are lots of questions about how the process will work in practice, and up until now we've had limited answers.

The United States of America-China Chamber of Commerce posted some useful information about how the 10 year visa program will work:

American And US Airways Continue To Improve First Class Catering

As most of you probably know by now, American and US Airways aligned their domestic catering as of September 1, 2014. For American flyers, these changes haven't been pretty.

Beginning on Tuesday, November 18th, there will be some further updates to the domestic first class catering for both American and US Airways.

Air China’s First 747-8 Destination Will Be New York JFK

Back in September I wrote about how Air China is the next airline to take delivery of the Boeing 747-8. To me, the 747 will always be the queen of the skies, and it's sad to see so many airlines retiring them. The 747-8 at least extends 747 service for a few airlines, though unfortunately the plane never really gained traction in terms of orders.

Lufthansa was the first airline to start flying the 747-8, and Air China is the second.

Air China initially announced that they'd first be flying the 747-8 within China for familiarization/training flights, and that their first longhaul 747-8 destination would be Frankfurt.
