Austin’s Outsider Art

The Texas capital's many music clubs host live performances every night of the year—and multiple times an evening during March's annual SXSW festival. Qatar Airways Buys Sheraton Skyline London Heathrow Hotel

According to Business Traveller, Qatar Airways has purchased the Sheraton Skyline London Heathrow, which is the nicer of the two Sheratons at Heathrow Airport.

"The property will shortly be rebranded as Oryx Sheraton Skyline London Heathrow.

Speaking at this year's ITB conference in Berlin, Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker confirmed to Business Traveller that the name Oryx would be appended to the Sheraton Skyline in the same way, with the property becoming Oryx Sheraton Skyline London Heathrow.

Al Baker said the airline was in talks to purchase a further three hotels in the US and also the UK, the details of which will be announced shortly."

Here’s the seatmap for a flight I just booked. You’ll see I selected an extra legroom aisle seat, and opted not to select the bulkhead row. This is an American Airlines MD80. Bulkhead seats often have better legroom than even ‘main cabin extra’ or ‘economy plus’ types of seating. At a minimum you don’t have […]
