Given that we've seen a lot of online accounts being hacked lately, the loyalty programs are taking account security much more seriously.
In mid-February, Hilton announced that they’d offer 1,000 bonus points for changing your HHonors account password by March 8, 2015. Apparently they were having “issues” with the promotion at the time, so had to postpone it by several weeks. Odd, I know!
Several weeks later the promo finally went live, whereby it was possible to earn 1,000 HHonors bonus points for changing your HHonors password by March 25, 2015.
