The Shape of Things to Come (P.S. – I’m Hiring!)

Things are changing here at a fast pace so it’s time to take a step back, breathe, and share what news about what it’s going because it’s going to be big (and awesome!). Simply put, this website is too big for my little ole self to run alone. Moreover, I don’t want to keep this website about me, my travels, and my advice. There’s a wealth of knowledge out there and I want to make Nomadic Matt more a community […]

British Airways Business Class New York – Paris Less Than $1000 Roundtrip Using a Sale and These Two Easy Tricks.

American, British Airways, and BA's 'OpenSkies' are matching cheap business class prices to Paris. The fares are even cheaper when 2 passengers travel together. BA offers discounts to AARP members (anyone can join) and to British Airways Visa co-brand cardholders. These discounts stack.

I've never seen non-mistake fare business class tickets to Europe cheaper for just one passenger. But when two passengers travel together and stack these discounts, the price is $984 apiece. Wow.

Rick’s Picks: Free Golf With the Citi Prestige Card!

This year marks my fiftieth year playing the game of golf, and in all those years, I can’t remember being offered a free round of golf (and certainly not three rounds per calendar year) for using a credit card. I’ve been fortunate enough to play some great courses, including Carnoustie in Scotland, Pebble Beach in […]

AMAZING DEAL: ~$1,000 Business Class To Europe This Summer On Oneworld

You can fly to Europe this summer for less than $1,000 in business class (and this isn't some scammy headline about redeeming miles for a "free" ticket plus $1,000 in taxes and fees)! ;)

Oneworld has published some amazing business class fares for travel this summer between New York and Paris. This fare seems to be directly competing with all business class airline La Compagnie, which will be flying between Newark and London/Paris as of this summer.

On the surface, business class fares are as low as ~$1,700 roundtrip, which is already an amazing value.

Starwood’s New Tribute Portfolio Independent Hotel Brand

Starwood today announced their latest hotel brand, called Tribute Portfolio Hotels & Resorts.

Tribute Portfolio will be Starwood's 10th brand and second collection of independent hotels, after The Luxury Collection.

What makes Tribute Portfolio different? Well, the brand has the motto "Stay Independent," and the goal is that the Portfolio will consist of independent hotels which don't otherwise fall under one of the other SPG "umbrellas."

This is something I'm really excited about as a Starwood loyalist. I love the elite perks, points, and consistent experience I get when staying at a Starwood property, but I like staying at something that feels a bit more "local." The way I see it, Tribute will combine the best of both worlds, giving me the elite perks and points I'm addicted to, while allowing me to stay at an "independent" hotel.
