Pan Am Dining: it’s Become “a Thing” In Los Angeles, New York, and London
There’s been a bit of a stir over Air Hollywood’s Pan Am dining experience — eat dinner on board a replica of a Pan Am 747. A $200 ticket gets you a business class seat for cocktails, dinner, and a movie. And a $300 first class ticket gives you a first class seat for cocktails […]

Hong Kong Removing “Cum” From Trash?
Hong Kong has long had trash cans which will make any 14-year-old-boy-at-heart giggle.
But I noticed something during my recent trip that I hadn't been noticed before, as the word "CUM" was covered on many of these dumpsters trash cans.
Anyone know why Hong Kong is removing the word "cum" from the trash?
Inquiring minds want to know...

A Pilot and a Priest Ascend to Heaven. You’ll Never Believe What Happened Next!
An oldie but a goodie. A priest dies and is waiting in line at the Pearly Gates. Ahead of him is a guy who’s dressed in sunglasses, a loud shirt, leather jacket, and jeans. Saint Peter addresses this cool guy, ‘Who are you, so that I may know whether or not to admit you to […]

Here’s an Airline That Shouldn’t Be Reborn
I’m too young to really remember Air Florida, although I know stories of Air Florida. Mostly I remember that Howard Stern went on the radio in DC ostensibly asking them for a one-way ticket from Washington National airport to the 14th Street Bridge, a day after the crash of Air Florida flight 90 caused by […]

Weekly Review: September 13, 2014
Hello from Hong Kong! I am here for a quick trip courtesy of some great fares American was offering earlier in the year on their new Dallas > Hong Kong route, and it's been a whirlwind (but awesome) few days.
As a side note, thanks to all of you for sharing in all this. While it's been a rough ten days for me, I feel like this has been an exceptionally fun week on the blog, and it's really because of y'all. Every single crappy travel moment I've had has been brightened by the thought of "well, at least it will make a good story."
So thanks for that, and for reading in general. Really can't express how much I appreciate it.
And with that:

Bonus Starpoints For Weekday Dining
Through December 30, 2014, Starwood is offering bonus Starpoints on weekday dines at participating restaurants.
The promotion has quite a few terms and restrictions, but if you do the math it can work out pretty nicely.

Hopefully Southwest Didn’t Actually PAY for Their New Paint Job’s Design
Here’s the new Southwest Airlines livery. I’m not sure what was wrong with the old one. I don’t know anyone that buys airline tickets based on the paint job of the planes. I get that you need to paint planes when airlines merge, to put the right company name on them. And the composite materials […]

EVA Air Hello Kitty Flights To Paris Starting October 29, 2014
A few weeks ago EVA Air announced that they'll be discontinuing Hello Kitty service to Los Angeles as of October 27, 2014. That's kind of disappointing, given that they just launched Hello Kitty service to Los Angeles roughly a year ago.
For those of you not familiar with EVA Air's Hello Kitty service, they operate select flights with Hello Kitty themed aircraft. I've had the opportunity to fly this service on two occasions:
