Hyatt Gold Passport 2015 Award Chart Changes

Last year Hyatt Gold Passport made some pretty substantial changes to their award chart, whereby they added Category 7 redemption properties, which increased the cost of some of Hyatt’s most aspirational hotels. Do You Lose Your Points When You Cancel A Credit Card?

I'm often asked if you lose your points when you cancel your credit card. I can understand the confusion, since the rules do vary based on the type of card.

Furthermore, I've heard of some credit card issuers incorrectly threatening that cardmembers will lose their points, even when it isn't true.

Generally speaking the rules vary based on the type of card you're earning points with. It depends on whether it's a program specific card or a bank rewards card (a card accruing points with Membership Rewards, Ultimate Rewards, Citi ThankYou, etc.).

Korean Air Executive Resigns Over Nuts

Yesterday I shared the crazy story about the Korean Air executive that seemed to lose it after a flight attendant dared to serve her macadamia nuts in a package rather than in a ramekin.

Her attention to detail and frustration wasn't inappropriate given that she was actually the vice president in charge of onboard service. So while the way nuts are served seems minor, in first class the expectation is that everything is perfect, and clearly that wasn't the case here.

At the same time, it seems like this is a situation that could be dealt with after the fact without humiliating the flight attendant and turning the plane around. After all, what good is stranding a flight attendant while inconveniencing 400+ people supposed to do?

What Are Delta’s New Delta One And Comfort+ Cabins?

Delta, which is no doubt the greatest "innovator" of any US legacy carrier, put out a press release yesterday entitled "Delta Redefines Cabin, Upgrades Premium Economy Options."

Delta is taking the whole "redefining" thing pretty literally, because they're simply renaming BusinessElite (Delta's international business class product) as Delta One, and renaming Economy Comfort (which offers a few extra inches of legroom in the first few rows of economy) as Comfort+. Oh, and they're changing seat covers. Apparently we're supposed to be excited about that?
