American AAdvantage Stopover Exceptions Added

Up until recently, American's policy for AAdvantage award tickets within the US & Canada has been that you can't have connections of over four hours. The one exception has been when the next flight isn't within four hours, in which case you can take the next flight that operates in the market (and to be clear, we're talking about the actual next flight, and not the next flight with award space).


It looks like American has loosened up on the rules for connections to smaller markets with less service as of July.

British Airways Adds Paid 72 Hour Ticket Hold Option

Yesterday British Airways introduced a new option to hold a revenue ticket for up to 72 hours for a fee. Through this program, you can lock in the price of a ticket for up to 72 hours. If the price goes up you get the "locked in" rate, while if the price goes down you can of course book it instead.


They're charging:


-- £5/$5/€5 per person for shorthaul flights

-- £10/$10/€10 per person for longhaul flights
