Good Time To Take Advantage Of Marriott 70K Increased Sign-Up Bonus

I've written in the past about the increased sign-up bonus on Marriott's co-branded Chase Visa Card.

For a limited time Chase is offering 70,000 Marriott Rewards points after spending $2,000 in the first three months, plus one free night stay at a Category 1-4 property after account approval. A free night at a Category 4 property goes for 20,000 points, so the sign-up bonus can be worth up to 90,000 points.

The $85 annual fee is even waived the first year.

Anyway, I have reason to believe that this offer will be changing very soon, so if you'd like to take advantage of it, I'd highly recommend applying today.

American AAdvantage Stopover Exceptions Added

Up until recently, American's policy for AAdvantage award tickets within the US & Canada has been that you can't have connections of over four hours. The one exception has been when the next flight isn't within four hours, in which case you can take the next flight that operates in the market (and to be clear, we're talking about the actual next flight, and not the next flight with award space).

It looks like American has loosened up on the rules for connections to smaller markets with less service as of July.
