The 5 Things I Remember When I Cancel a Card

Our latest rejections by Chase for the Marriott Rewards Business cards with the now-expired 70,000 mile sign-up bonus have moved me to reconsider the cards we are currently keeping alive. A Red Foggy Night in Northern China

See any typos? You know what? I’m terrible with typos… just terrible. I make them all the time. I re-read my blog posts and I can never catch my mistakes. So, if YOU ever see one, just leave a comment! Don’t worry… it won’t hurt my feelings. Then I can just fix it right up! […]

Some Guy Built a Real Flying Model Airbus A380. There’s Only Three Problems…

While I’m posting videos on Sunday evening, here’s one courtesy of @phil_muller of an incredibly impressive model of a Singapore Airlines A380. This thing flies! There are only two things wrong with it. Here’s the rub: There’s no suites class onboard. No award inventory, either. And you cannot Book the Cook. Other than that, awesome! […]

Forte Dei Marmi Journal: Despite Sanctions, Cash Keeps Flowing at Playground for Russia’s Rich

Business owners in seaside resort towns like Forte dei Marmi worry that further sanctions could hurt business, but so far the reach of big Russian money seems little affected.

North American National Park #41: Wind Cave, South Dakota

Wind Cave is one of the United States oldest national parks, created in 1903 by president Theodore Roosevelt. I’ve been to Wind Cave several times and I have found it is helpful to actually think of Wind Cave as two separate parks. The first park is the cave itself. Wind Cave is one of the [...]

Last Call for 50,000 Delta Amex Offers

As a reminder, American Express is offering some increased sign-up bonuses on their co-branded Delta SkyMiles credit cards.

Per the application pages, these offers are all valid through tomorrow, September 8, 2014, so if you're interested in one of these cards I would jump on the increased bonus.

Why would I want more SkyPesos?

You might not, and if you're already earning hundreds of thousands of SkyMiles per year through the Suntrust Debit Card or other methods then I don't blame you.

As a relative matter though, I’ve found that Delta SkyMiles have become more valuable over the past couple of years. I'm finding them particularly valuable for travel to Europe and Australia, and once you understand how Delta prices award tickets you can get much more value from the program.
