The Secret Of Flying Singapore Suites

Unless you've been flying regional jets with no wifi this week, you've probably seen the "$23,000 Singapore Airlines Suites Class" trip report circling around social media. As interesting as the report itself are the claims that some of the text and pictures were stolen from other bloggers. I'm not sure whether that's the case or not, though it has added a fun twist to this report.

What's amazing to me though is the comments this story has been getting! Things like:

"That's an insane amount of money! You could buy a car!"

"We should do this! But we'd have to rob a bank first..."

"Too bad I'll never be able to afford that!"

How To Adjust Your Spending To Delta’s New Transfer Limits

Yesterday I posted about a huge change to the Delta SkyMiles program, whereby starting in 2015 members can only transfer 250,000 points from American Express Membership Rewards to Delta SkyMiles per calendar year.

Well, these changes are even further reaching than that. Via the SkyMiles News & Updates page:

"Beginning January 1, 2015, a new 250,000-mile allowance will go into effect for transfers from SkyMiles partner loyalty programs. The maximum amount of points transferable into a given SkyMiles account will be 250,000 miles (or equivalent) per partner during each calendar year."

61 Travel Tips to Make You the World’s Savviest Traveler

Most people aren’t born savvy travelers. It’s something that only comes with on the road experience. In the beginning, you make a lot of mistakes. Travel savviness is a process born of missed buses, foolish behavior, cultural unawareness, and countless tiny errors. Then, one day, you begin to seamlessly move through airports and integrate yourself into new cultures like a fish to water. I want to help speed up the process and help you avoid my mistakes (and I often […]

Young and Hungry in Paris

Finally, the tide has turned for the Canal Saint-Martin district, and its rough edges have been smoothed out for picnics and promenades. “Like Shoreditch in London, or Williamsburg in New York, it’s where the new things are being created in Paris,” says business owner Mickael Benichou.

American Airlines held a dinner in New York for Concierge Key members. Concierge Key is status has for spend and traveler influencers. You Don’t Have To Be A Food Snob To Hate American’s New Catering

About a month ago American and US Airways aligned their domestic first class catering policies.

I've been pretty vocal about how horrible the changes are. I'm not one that's especially critical of domestic airplane food, given that my expectations are low to begin with. Even so, they've managed to underwhelm me.

My first experience with the new catering on American was within the first week of it being implemented. The “salad” consisted mostly of shredded lettuce, and the chicken was possibly the worst chicken I’ve ever had in a premium cabin.

Unfortunately I had beef with my next first class meal as well... the "beef" was inedible and made me long for the days of middle school cafeteria food.

9 ways to get to know the Bronx

About 8.4 million people can rightfully call themselves New Yorkers, according to 2013 census data. There are no official numbers to back this up, but it'd be a pretty solid bet to say that an awful lot of them have never spent much time exploring the Bronx beyond Yankee Stadium, the Bronx Zoo, the Bronx Botanical Gardens and maaayyybe going out for a plate of manicotti and some tiramisu on Arthur Avenue.
