Review: Korean Air Business Class Lounge Seoul Incheon Airport ICN

After an all too short night I took the hotel shuttle back to the airport shortly after 10AM.

Etihad changed their check-in counters compared to the night before, so this time around check-in was at counters G30-36. Even though I arrived at them shortly before 10:30AM, there was already a long queue.

The premium counters were on the left, and there was both a first and business class line. People seemed to treat it as a single line, though. When I asked the people waiting whether they were in the first or business class line, they said "one line." Obviously not the case, though they were trying to work that in their favor.

Check-in opened at 10:30AM sharp, and I ended up being number two in the first class line. The person in front of me took 45 minutes to be processed, so it was 11:15AM before I was checked in. Much to my surprise my boarding pass was issued within 30 seconds, including on the later flight from Abu Dhabi to Cairo that I had proactively been rebooked on.

No 2014 AAdvantage Elite Rewards?

For the past few years American AAdvantage has offered Elite Rewards, whereby you earn additional rewards for exceeding the traditional elite status thresholds.

The intent was to get you to fly more with American than you otherwise may have, and at times it ended up being very rewarding. In the end I received an additional 60,000 AAdvanatage miles for having earned 125,000 elite qualifying miles, which was a nice added bonus. If I had earned 150,000 elite qualifying miles I would have earned an additional 40,000 AAdvantage miles.

The Cheapest Way To Get From Tampa To New York Is Via…

Last night I was on ITA Matrix looking up the cheapest fares between Tampa and New York. The cheapest one-way ticket was $105, which seemed super reasonable. Great, who am I flying, Delta or JetBlue?

Nope, the cheapest ticket was actually on Frontier... via Denver!

Don't get me wrong, I'd be thrilled if American published a fare like that, as it would be an absolute mileage bonanza. But on Frontier I'm not quite as hot about the idea, even though their frequent flyer program is based on miles flown. Wonder why. ;)
