Aer Lingus Starting Washington Dulles Flights In 2015
For a long time it has been rumored that Aer Lingus will expand service to the United States, and apparently Dallas was at the top of the list of new destinations. Prior to that Aer Lingus expanded to San Francisco and Toronto, and that growth has been performing very well for them.
On Monday I posted about how Aer Lingus would be announcing their latest US destination today, and that it would apparently be on the US east coast. As far as I'm concerned, that narrowed it down to Miami and Washington Dulles.
Well, Aer Lingus has now announced their US expansion, and it looks like their newest route will be Dublin to Washington Dulles. But the growth goes beyond that.
Here's a rundown of Aer Lingus' service expansion between Dublin and North America as of next summer, via airlineroute.net:

Turns Out Hyatt’s Elite Status Challenge is NOT Gone For Good…
On Monday it was being reported that the Hyatt Diamond challenge had ended. Hyatt was exceptionally generous in that they were willing to give elite members of other hotel chains temporary top tier status, while offering an expedited way to keep that status. And they even gave these temporary Diamond full confirmed suite upgrades as […]

Alaska Board Room Members Have Cathay Pacific Lounge Access At SFO
This isn't actually new, though somehow I wasn't aware of this. Back when I lived in Seattle I'd fly Alaska to/from the Bay Area a ton, though since leaving Seattle earlier in the year I haven't flown Alaska on that route.
This summer Alaska Airlines closed their Board Room in San Francisco. This was due to their terminal change, whereby they were moving from Terminal 1 to the International Terminal.
The Alaska Board Room at San Francisco Airport was a tiny lounge, though the staff were quite friendly and the food and beverage selection was decent for a domestic lounge.
What I didn't realize, however, is that Alaska Airlines now has a lounge agreement with Cathay Pacific in San Francisco.
