Will Ultimate Rewards Transfers To Korean Air Return?

On Friday I wrote about the sudden change to the Chase Ultimate Rewards website, whereby points transfers to Korean Air SkyPass were no longer possible.

While not an especially popular Ultimate Rewards transfer partner, personally it's one of my favorites.

Korean Air belongs to SkyTeam, and is one of the few SkyTeam airlines through which you can redeem miles for first class at the saver level. What makes Korean Air SkyPass so great?

Korean Air Expected To Return As a Chase Points Transfer Partner

I reached out to Chase about the removal of Korean Air Skypass as a points-transfer partner. For many members, Korean Air is too obscure to matter. For me, it’s essential. It’s one of my favorite transfer partners, and something that sets Chase apart from key competitors. First class awards have been so darned easy to […]

What If We Don’t Improve After a Difficult Experience?

“One of the unspeakable things that I think might even be the most unspeakable way of carrying on is this idea of not improving from an experience, not becoming a better person, not having a redemption. Our culture is so obsessed with the idea that you’re going to go through a crisis or some difficult…

Explosion At Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill

In what appears to have been a gas explosion, the Hyatt Regency London has suffered some structural damage, and will be closed for at least the next few days.

Apparently all 500 guests were safely evacuated, with a handful of staff being treated for minor injuries.

The hotel is currently closed while the full extent of the damage is being determined.

I know many people took advantage of the discounted business class fares to book international travel for Thanksgiving weekend, so thought I'd pass this along.

How Many Elite Members to Frequent Flyer Programs Have?

Reader Jered asked how many elite members of United’s MileagePlus program there are. And the easy answer is I do not know precisely, these are closely-guarded numbers. But I do have some “bigger than a breadbox” sorts of estimates. In other words, I have a general idea of the size of the elite pool, within […]

“Do You Want Something to Drink?” A Memory of Family

On my recent book tour, I usually began each night’s talk with a story about playing Super Mario Brothers with my grandma. Her name was Regina but we all called her Nana, and she's been one of the most important people in my life

Conde’ Nast‘s Barbara Peterson looks at the United MileagePlus option to redeem miles for meals at their Newark hub. Snowboarders kill nipple deep pow
