This Guy Claims JetBlue Banned Him. I’m Just Glad I Don’t Have to Sit Next to Him!

Apparently things started because the video’s creator ran into an issue with a JetBlue booking, didn’t get a confirmation, and is unhappy with the customer service JetBlue provided (although he acknowledges that JetBlue offered to reduce their change fee for him). In response to what he considered unhelpful customer service, he sent out a series […]

A move by Google to see the end of ads on the internet

Google has challenged its own ad-funded business model by launching Contributor.

It's a US service (for now) that asks users for a monthly subscription in return for ad-free access to the web.

Those who pay between $1 and $3 a month will be able to read some websites that have a thank you message instead of ads.

They also won’t be tracked by Google.

Australia Part 2: Ayers Rock and The Great Ocean Road

After a day in Sydney watching the Sydney Swans get clobbered in the AFL Grand Final game (what a blowout), Andrew and I were off to Ayers Rock on Qantas via a stop in Alice Springs. We used Avios miles and flew Business Class. That was a bit of a waste of miles, but it […]

Club Carlson Cyber Monday Points Sale Live

Earlier I wrote about how Club Carlson is offering a Cyber Monday 100% bonus on purchased points.

I figured I'd post a quick update that this deal is now live, through 11:59PM CST today, Monday, December 1, 2014.

The catch -- which wasn't initially clarified -- is that you're limited to receiving a 100% bonus on 10,000 points. That means that through this promotion you can receive a maximum of 20,000 points for $70, which is 0.35 cents per point.

Etihad Upgrading Their Premium Services — Starting Right Away!

I love the way that the Middle Eastern carriers are elevating the travel experience, in many ways beyond what’s supported economically by a profitable business model for the airline narrowly conceived. Here’s Etihad’s strategy for lighting huge sums of money on fire to build Abu Dhabi into a global aviation hub, investing in money-losing airlines […]

Are You A Winner?

Well, you're all winners in my book. ;)

In his post this past Thursday, Travis was giving away two $25 off Hertz certificates. To enter you just had to say what you were thankful for this Thanksgiving.

The randomly selected winner was Daniel M, who wrote the following:

Gogo Introduces Global Unlimited Plan

As I've said many times before, I'm a big fan of in-flight internet. I don't actually remember how transcons worked in the days before Gogo.

I have a Gogo Unlimited plan for $44.95 per month, which is well worth the money to me. I believe the cost is now $59.95 per month, though they've grandfathered in people with old pricing plans. While it's certainly not cheap, it's a bargain compared to what they're charging nowadays for individual flight passes, which can often be ~$25.

Anyway, I just received the following email from Gogo:
