Marriott’s New Housekeeping Tipping Initiative Makes for an Awkward Stay

Back in September of this year, Marriott announced that it would be joining A Woman’s Nation (AWN), a nonprofit organization founded by Maria Shriver, in their “The Envelope Please” initiative, which is designed to encourage and enable hotel guests to tip housekeepers in designated envelopes provided in hotel rooms. While I absolutely support what AWN […]

Aeroplan Miles-Earning Credit Card Now Available for U.S. Residents

Air Canada’s Aeroplan rewards program is one of the most underrated rewards program out there. Sure, they impose fuel surcharges on their own flights (as well as many of their partners’ flights), but the list of partners on which they do not impose fuel surcharges (including United, SWISS, Brussels Airlines, South African Airways and Turkish) […]

Everyone Reading This Should Get The Chase Freedom

No, really.

And maybe this is because all I do in life nowadays is tell people not to get CapitalOne cards, but the Chase Freedom® is really the much better option if you're looking for a no-annual fee card that you can actually use on travel you want to take.

I don't know how y'all spend the holiday season, but if you visit family like I do, you may also be watching a lot of football. Which is great.

I love football.

What I don't love is Samuel L. Jackson coming on TV every seven minutes and asking my aunts, uncles, and grandparents what's in their wallet.

Lufthansa Adds United Lounge Access For HON Circle Members

Lufthansa's uber-top tier status is HON Circle, which can be earned by accruing 600,000 elite qualifying miles over the course of two years.

The status comes with quite a few benefits, probably the most significant of which is access to the Lufthansa First Class Lounges and Lufthansa First Class Terminal regardless of which class of service you're flying.

So a HON Circle member can book a cheap economy ticket from Frankfurt to Munich and spend all day in the First Class Terminal in Frankfurt, if they'd like. As a matter of fact, I know several HON Circle members who spend their weekends exactly that way. ;)

The catch is that while HON Circle status gets you access to Lufthansa's First Class Lounges, it doesn't get you access to the first class lounges of partner airlines.

Delta Plans to Expand Use of Their Restrictive No Seat Assignment, No Change, No Upgrade Fares

Cranky Flier points out that with Delta’s rebranding of their cabins they’re going to be rolling out restrictive ‘basic economy’ fares into more markets. Last week I wrote about Delta’s cabin rebranding efforts, but I failed to really grasp something that is likely going to become a big issue. The lowest fare, Basic Economy, is […]

Mexico City’s Magical Mix

The keys to happiness in Mexico City are the simple things: the cozy cantina that serves pork ribs in green sauce; a walk in Parque México, on any day of the week but especially on Sundays, in the Condesa neighborhood; or a teeming food market such as Mercado San Juan.
