Review: St. Regis Deer Valley, Park City

To expand a bit on the above, as long time readers know, for the past two years I’ve been participating in the SPG Amex Stars program, which I first wrote about in April of 2012.

A vast majority of my travel is self-funded, with one of the only exceptions being stays through this program. What makes this so cool isn’t just that I get to have some cool experiences that I can write about, but that with each experience I get to give away Starpoints to a lucky reader, courtesy of the Starwood American Express.

That’s what makes this so fun, so stay tuned for that giveaway.

I Missed My Flight… By A Day… F*CK!

Hope everyone's having a Merry Christmas... I'm not!

I can't say I was too excited about flying Bahrain to Abu Dhabi to Colombo to Abu Dhabi tonight without more than an hour connection inbetween. I'd leave Bahrain tonight at 6PM and get into Abu Dhabi tomorrow morning at 8AM, after a lot of regional flying. But it appears that isn't even happening. Why? Because I missed my flight. By a day.

Let me explain.

Emirates Discontinuing The Most Expensive Drink In The Sky

There's no doubt Emirates is one of the "frilliest" airlines out there, from their onboard bar to onboard shower. They're probably my favorite airline in the world to fly, thanks to the fact that I never get bored on them.

Based on the programs they undertake, you sometimes have to wonder if money is even an object for them. I mean, they just announced a 500 million dollar investment in their wine program, for example.

But the most spectacular drink they serve aboard isn't wine, but rather their cognac.

American’s 3-Cabin International Flights Sold as 2-Cabin, and Who Can Book International First Class Seats Free!

Back in April we learned the details of American’s plans for their Boeing 777-200s. American is dropping first class from these planes (international first class will remain only on their 777-300ERs). Business class goes fully flat. And there are some changes from the 777-300ER new business class seat. It’s fully flat, all aisle access with […]

All Delta Pay With Miles Tickets Will Be Eligible For Mileage Accrual In 2015

Delta has a Pay With Miles redemption option, which is available exclusively for those with Delta's co-branded American Express Card.

Basically the Pay With Miles option lets you redeem miles towards the cost of a revenue ticket at the rate of one cent per mile... at most. Here's the breakdown:

"For fares less than $100:

-- Redeem 25,000 miles to cover the total fare

For fares equal to or greater than $100 and less than $250:

-- Redeem 10,000 miles for $100 off the total fare or

-- Increase the redemption to 25,000 miles and increase from that point in increments of 5,000 miles ($50 off) to cover the total fare"
