Gulf Air Business Class London To Bahrain A330

As I mentioned earlier in the week, I just flew Gulf Air business class from London Heathrow to Bahrain. I've always been intrigued by Gulf Air, though due to their financial situation they seem to be on the decline, and are cutting routes rather than adding them.

That being said, they're an American AAdvantage partner airline, so I could fly on them between Europe and the Middle East in business class for just 30,000 American miles one-way.

Gulf Air operates two flights a day between London and Bahrain -- I took the daytime flight (departing at 9:30AM and arriving at 7PM), while they also have a redeye.

I figured I'd share my initial thoughts on the experience.

A-Audio Premium Legacy Headphones Offer 3-Stage Listening

Join Vagabondish on Twitter and Facebook.

As a minimalist traveler, I’ve long been a fan of earbuds as they’re almost invisible from a packing perspective. But I’ve started to appreciate a few more creature comforts when I hit the road now. Among those: great-sounding audio. I forego the movies on long-haul flights in favor of great music or even a podcast. […]

British Airways Re-committing to First Class, Converting Remaining 747s to New First!

Conventional wisdom is that international first class is a thing of the past. A dinosaur. The better business classes today are better than what first used to be. Here are the world’s best business class products. There’s a very narrow market that will pay for greater privacy and service, that isn’t paying to fly private. […]

Etihad A380 Inaugural Is On!!!!

Yesterday was a rough day for me, to put it mildly. For those of you that weren't online and did something crazy on Christmas (like spend time with your family ;) ), check out my previous post: I Missed My Flight… By A Day… F*CK!

So let me pick up where I left off.

I took a taxi from the airport to the Sheraton in Bahrain to try and sort things out and collect my thoughts. There I sat down in the cafe and had a cappuccino. It was oddly crunchy... because it had a bug in it!

I hadn't eaten all day (well, other than perhaps part of that bug) and realized that was probably contributing to my unhappiness with life at the moment. Good thing the Sheraton has a pretty good Chinese restaurant, so I set up central command there. I had my laptop, iPad, and iPhone out, and headphones in. I was the only one not having a family dinner.
