“In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart”

From The Diary of Anne Frank: “In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart. I simply can’t build up my hopes on a foundation consisting of confusion, misery, and death. I see the world gradually being turned into a wilderness, I hear the ever approaching thunder, which will destroy…

US Airways Awards Once Again Bookable Online Using Avios

Last week I wrote about an issue whereby US Airways awards weren't bookable using Avios through British Airways' website.

For the most part US Airways awards continued to be bookable through British Airways' call center, though given their outrageously hold long times, that wasn't much of a consolation prize. My guess was that the glitch had something to do with US Airways aligning fare classes with American a couple of weeks back, and problems stemming from that.

Anyway, it looks like this glitch has finally been fixed, because as of yesterday US Airways awards are once again bookable through British Airways' website.

Amazing Footage of TransAsia Plane Crash

A TransAsia ATR-72 turboprop flying from Taipei Songshan Airport in Taiwan to Xiamen, China, crashed shortly after takeoff today.

Footage of the crash was captured on video, amazingly enough.

Of the 58 passengers, only 12 are confirmed dead. While any loss of life is incredibly tragic, it looks like it could have ended a lot worse. My thoughts are with those onboard and their families and friends. It's always horrible when stuff like this happens.
