Next IHG Rewards Club PointBreaks List Being Published This Wednesday

IHG Rewards Club's PointBreaks promotion is traditionally one of the best promotions in the hotel industry. Through this promotion, select hotels are available for just 5,000 points per night. Since IHG Rewards Club points can be indirectly purchased for 0.7 cents each, that’s like booking stays at certain hotels for just $35 per night.

IHG Rewards Club's current PointBreaks promotion runs through February 28, 2015, though they've let me know that the next PointBreaks list will be valid for bookings & stays between February 25 and May 31, 2015.

Here is a sampling of the more than 140 properties that will be featured on the next list:

Am I a luxury traveler because I stay in a hotels or a budget one because I use points to stay in them for free? I was faced with these questions last month when asked how […]

The Strangest Immigration Landing Card You’ve Ever Seen, and It’s Now Being Used.

The other day I entered Abu Dhabi briefly. Apparently additional security measures were in place for immigration, and the fast track queue took about 40 minutes — even though the line wasn’t particularly long. What was unique was they were insisting that everyone fill out landing cards. I don’t recall ever filling one of those […]

Three Days Only: Up To 50% Bonus On Purchase Of British Airways Avios

British Airways is offering what they call their "best ever bonus" on the purchase of Avios, available through 11:59PM GMT on Wednesday, February 25, 2015.

Through this promotion you'll earn a 50% bonus if you purchase 2,000 or more Avios, up to the annual limit of 35,000 Avios (not factoring in any bonus Avios). Purchased Avios should post immediately and are processed directly by British Airways, meaning they should qualify as airfare spend for the purpose of your credit card.

The cost per purchased Avios varies based on how many you purchase. For example, 15,000 Avios (including the 50% bonus) will cost you $300, which is 2.0 cents per Avios.

I cant remember the last time I saw such a commotion in the miles and points space over something as insignificant as Delta removing their award chart. Frankly, I could care less if they offer a chart or not. When I’m planning a trip, I shop for the best price, plain and simple. I first […]
