Review: Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel Copenhagen

We spent four nights in Copenhagen, and decided to spend them at Club Carlson properties. Arguably the greatest benefit of the Club Carlson Premier Rewards Visa Signature® Card is that the second night of every award redemption is free.

That meant we could stay at one Club Carlson property for two nights and only pay for one, and then switch up properties and do the same for the third and fourth night. Club Carlson actually has four properties in Copenhagen, and we decided to do the Radisson Blu Scandanavia Hotel for the first two nights, and then the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel for the second two nights (since it's a bit more centrally located, and that's where we'd be over New Years).

The rate options for the first two night were either 1,195DKK (~$180) on a paid rate, or 44,000 points per night.

Urban Yoga Project Takes Flight in New York, Madrid, and Paris

I like yoga, which means I tell people I practice all the time, but in reality only go to class a couple times a month. When I saw these photos of Slovenian architect Anja Humljan, I was amazed. Anja has taken her passion for yoga and movement into urban environments—a global experiment in how we connect with cities. Take a look for yourself. UY_NYC_Jaka_Vinsek_07

2015 Hyatt Diamond Upgrades Are Now Available

Last week I posted a reminder that Hyatt’s 2014 Diamond Suite Upgrade Awards would expire on February 28. The nice thing about Hyatt’s Diamond Suite Upgrade Awards is that you don’t have to redeem them for a stay prior to the expiration date, but rather just have to make a booking prior to the expiration date, even if you're staying on a subsequent date.

I figured I’d also post a reminder that if you qualified for Hyatt Diamond status for the 2015 program year, your four annual Diamond Suite Upgrade Awards should have posted to your account today. These are valid through February 29, 2016.

The basic rules of these suite upgrades are as follows:

Can I Book One-Way AAdvantage Awards Using US Airways Miles?

TPG reader Daniel emailed me to ask: “I have US Airways Dividend Miles, and I was wondering if I could use them to book a one-way award ticket on American Airlines?” Strictly speaking, the answer is yes — you can book a one-way award, but unfortunately, it will cost you the same as a round-trip...

Why Do You Recommend Transferring Chase UR Points to Hyatt?

TPG reader Dan emailed me to ask: “In several blog posts, you mention that you get more value from Ultimate Rewards points if you use them with Hyatt, but it seems like points transfer 1:1. Can you please explain?” I don’t mean to say that you actually get more points by transferring to Hyatt then...

Your Fellow Passengers are Generous, Polite, and Well Behaved. The Data Says So.
